Angela Brooks Dailey

Angela is an award-winning journalist, most recently winning first and second place in the state of Georgia in the category of Best Magazine, Original Writing in the Georgia Press Association's 2021 Better Newspaper Contest: Magazine Category.

Angela has lived in West Georgia most of her life and has a deep love and appreciation for the area. She received her BBA in management from The University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Ga., and is a Civil and Domestic Relations mediator and arbitrator registered with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution. She lives in Carrollton and has two wonderful children.

She enjoys reading and spending time with her children and extended family and loves to watch her daughter play soccer.
Shala Spruell Hainer

Shala Spruell Hainer

With more than 20 years of experience working with online and print publications, Shala started her career as a copy editor at the Marietta Daily Journal.

After working at newspapers in Atlanta and South Carolina, she spent several years producing publications for non-profits and marketing the organizations. Shala switched to freelance writing and copy editing after her oldest son was born, and she now uses her communication and marketing skills to help her clients as a realtor.

She lives in Kennesaw with her two sons, Jackson and Dylan.

Jordan Dailey

Jordan was born in Newnan, Ga., and has lived in West Georgia all of her life. She currently lives in Carrollton, Ga., with her husband, Zachary.

Jordan recently graduated from West Georgia Technical College in Health Information Technology.

She enjoys cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Zachary was born in Carrollton, Ga., and has lived in West Georgia all of his life. He currently lives in Carrollton, Ga., with his beautiful wife, Jordan.

Zachary obtained his photography certification from the University of West Georgia in 2018 and also does freelance photography for medical offices and retail locations throughout West Georgia and East Alabama.

Zachary is currently attending the University of West Georgia to obtain a bachelors degree in graphic design.

He enjoys fishing and traveling.

Chef Rose is a native of Carroll County and lives in Carrollton, Ga., with her husband Shawn and their son, Sebastian.

She graduated from West Georgia Technical College in 2013 with a degree in Culinary Arts.

After graduation, she began her career as a chef at the Carrollton Kroger Marketplace, where she works in the bistro.

Charlene has lived in West Georgia for 36 years and resides in Carrollton. She is a proud grandmother of four and great-grandmother of two. She enjoys walking on the green belt, reading, crocheting and playing the card games “Hand and Foot” and “Canasta” with friends.

Gary has lived in West Georgia since 1974. Gary enjoys listening to music, collecting vinyl records, working out at the gym, and driving his corvette. Most of all, he loves his family and is a true family man. He and his wife, Eileen, live in Villa Rica, and they have four adult children and five grandchildren.

Janet Flanigan, feature writer for West Georgia Woman magazine, has enjoyed a long career in writing and communications. Prior to her family’s move to Newnan, Ga., in 1996, Janet was the vice president of Lee & Associates, a Los Angeles-based public relations and advertising agency. During her time in California, Janet was also the society writer for the Pasadena Star-News newspaper.

Since moving to Newnan, Janet has worked as a freelance writer for several magazines and newspapers and as a marketing expert for a wide variety of businesses. She is a graduate of Clemson University with a BA in English and a minor in communications. Janet lives on a farm in Newnan with her husband, Pat, and a large variety of animals. She and Pat have two adult sons, Keegan and Sean.

Sandra Bolan, feature writer for West Georgia Woman magazine, is an award-winning journalist with more than 25 years of print media experience. She is also the author of four books. Sandra moved from Canada to Georgia in 2017. She lives with her husband, three rescue dogs and one rescued cat. One of her dogs is a R.E.A.D. therapy dog. Sandra is an Ironman and ultramarathoner. In her free time, Sandra reads, runs, swims, hikes, cooks and bakes.

Cheryl A. Francis

Cheryl A. Francis, Licensed Professional Counselor, is the owner of The Heart Matters Wellness Services, LLC, a full-service counseling agency in Austell, Ga. She is certified as a Mental Health First Aid Adult trainer and regularly provides seminars and trainings to the community on various mental health issues.

She has partnered with the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy to train individuals in the prevention of childhood sexual abuse.

Lisa King, Ed.S., LPC, CPCS, CCTP is a licensed psychotherapist in private practice in Carrollton, Ga. She is a graduate of the University of West Georgia’s psychology and counselor education programs. Her specialties include anxiety, depression, substance abuse, life transitions, trauma, and self-harm.

Lisa is a certified professional counselor supervisor and a certified clinical trauma professional. She has been on the board of directors for the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of GA (LPCA-GA) since 2012. She is the 2018-19 past president of LPCA-GA.
